Meet the Agapé Family Agapé Corner is a true family. We eat meals together, learn together, and play together. Our staff members are educators, parents, role models, and friends. We teach our children, help them learn values and discipline, and comfort them when they are sick or grieving.
Our children represent a wide array of races, and we see beauty in their diversity, strength, and many talents. While race can be a divisive issue for so many, our staff and our children don’t see color – they see God’s creation in each other’s faces - and so we live together peacefully and free from the name-calling and alienation that besets so many in our culture.
We encourage children to explore their areas of interest. Consequently, you will often see Agapé staff or volunteers taking children to sports practice, art classes, or dance events. We gather for meals, to watch the news, play a quick game of basketball, or enjoy our own playground. At night, after our homework is done, we might play a board game, read with a tutor, or practice a talent, like a musical instrument or sewing. A visitor to Agapé will hear noisy, joyful cacophony. We’re a family alright, but a large and exuberant one.
